This wasn’t just another incentive trip. The client wanted something extraordinary; a program that rewarded brokers for their achievements and encouraged them to aim even higher for future opportunities. It needed to:
Provide luxury and exclusivity worthy of top performers
Deliver authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences
Seamlessly handle large-scale international logistics
Maintain excellence despite a global pandemic and unexpected venue disruptions
SDI delivered a seamless, fully curated journey that showcased South Africa’s breathtaking diversity.
The program opened with a three-night VIP experience in wine country, where top brokers traveled in classic cars between private vineyard tours, enjoyed Michelin-star dining, blended their own wines, and experienced an unexpected highlight—an up-close encounter with cheetahs.
The remaining six nights brought the full group together for an exploration of Cape Town and a luxury safari experience. Attendees cycled through Stellenbosch vineyards, toured Robben Island, rode sidecars to Signal Hill, and, for thrill-seekers, went shark-cage diving. Evenings featured immersive dining, including a full-venue buyout where drummers and dancers brought South African traditions to life.
A private chartered aircraft transported guests to their safari lodges, where daily game drives, hot air balloon rides, elephant encounters, and spa treatments offered a deep connection to nature. Nights were spent under the stars with gin-tail sundowners, fireside boma dinners, and a farewell BBQ with live music and dancing.
124 attendees, including a VIP group of 32
Overwhelmingly positive post-event feedback praising flawless logistics, curated activities, and authentic local experiences
Strengthened trust and loyalty between the client and their brokers
Renewed excitement and motivation for future incentive programs
This trip was contracted prior to COVID and was to operate April 2021. COVID restrictions were still in place, but travel was doable to South Africa with proof of vaccination and COVID tests prior to departing the United States. However, in February 2021, a large fire at the Safari camp decimated the dining hall. We were forced to move the entire trip and find new dates in November 2021 that worked for our client as well as all hotels, the Safari camp and venues. COVID was still a challenge in November, so everyone in our group took COVID tests prior to traveling to the next city. We hired a medical doctor to travel with us to the Safari camp as an extra precaution.
This trip succeeded because it was designed to be more than a luxury vacation. It combined authentic South African adventures, intimate VIP experiences, and seamless execution to create an environment where relationships deepened and memories inspired future success. Through high-touch planning and innovative problem-solving, SDI transformed a complex international program into a business-driving, unforgettable incentive experience.
