In Incentive Travel, Strategic Meetings

For those of us who spend our lives traveling, being grounded is an unsettling feeling. We’re missing the joy of the plane taking off, the rush of warmth from disembarking in a new climate and the adventure found in exploring an unfamiliar city.

Travel changes us. It gives us experiences and creates memories that will never be forgotten. It’s the reason we know that incentive travel is one of the most powerful incentives you can offer your employees.

We’re home for now, but not forever. We’re committed to doing our part during this crisis and supporting our clients through all the changes that it necessitates. And we look forward to the day we’re once again packing our suitcases.

While we wait – we’re shifting our blog to looking towards all those future trips we’ll be taking. Consider this your official invitation to travel across the world with SDI. Give us a follow here on the blog, or on our social accounts, and take an armchair journey with us to some of our favorite destinations, to inspiring locations and some incredible bucket list properties that stand out from the rest.

First up, we’re thinking of next ski season. And for the non-skiers among us, we’re featuring a few properties that offer a lot more than powder and slopes.

Beaver Creek, Colorado

Looking for a family-friendly ski spot? Beaver Creeks fits the bill. The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is located just steps from the Buckaroo Express lift. New skiers? Beaver Creek’s ski school is one of the best and offers a dedicated learning area, Haymeadow Park. With suite-to-slope services, kid-pleasing amenities including in-room “camp outs” complete with teepees and s’mores, and the legendary service Park Hyatt is known for, this is a ski trip packed with something for every member of the family.

Aspen, Colorado

The Hotel Jerome might not be slope-side but it’s at the center of Aspen’s after-slopes scene. The opulent décor and cheeky features make Hotel Jerome equal part chic and cozy. The hotel’s infamous J-Bar opened in 1889 and remained operational through the Prohibition. Located on Main Street in charming Aspen, the Hotel Jerome welcomes every guest with their renowned hospitality, including the four-legged kind. Incredibly dog friendly, with a resident pup concierge, dogs are allowed nearly everywhere on the property. And of course, Aspen’s choices for skiing abound, from the 3,300 foot Aspen Mountain in the center of town to nearby Buttermilk and Snowmass, which offers the highest vertical rise in the country.

Stowe Mountain Resort, Vermont

Prefer something closer to the east coast? Stowe is where luxury meets the slopes! Skiers, foodies and those who just want to get away will find something incredible nestled between Stowe’s two mountains. Looking for a new adventure? Try dog sled tours, snow shoeing or a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow. When you’re ready to warm up, Stowe’s Healing Lodge offers world-class spa treatments and a relaxation lounge where you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the mountains alongside a roaring fire.

Mont Tremblant, Quebec

Gorgeous Mont Tremblant will transport you to a new world. There so much to do from stellar skiing to shopping, dining and nightlife just steps from the base of the mountain. For a truly special small gathering, choose the 30-room Hotel Quintessence, located at the base of Mont Tremblant on the edge of a lake – Lac Tremblant. With luxury accommodations, world-class dining and a short stroll to everything the village offers, this is a ski destination that gains high marks for even the most discerning traveler.le of a fairy tale. You’ll be surrounded by snow covered mountain peaks, and the constant view of Matterhorn, stunning accommodations, creative restaurants and a village that appears to have popped up right out of a storybook. The skiing is unquestionably superlative, of course, but the offerings found throughout the village hit equally high markets.
